Solar Outside Lights – The Best Outdoor Lighting

Best solar lights can provide a fast, easy, safe and cost effective solution to your outdoor lighting needs. Best outside lights give you the freedom to decide where to install lighting without worrying about whether you can do it, how long it will take you, who you will need to hire and will it be safe for the family.

Solar outside Lights can be used in almost any location around the property; storing the sunlight during the day and converting that power to a usable energy source to power the lights at night. This technology has come a long way since it was first introduced for residential use and it continues to progress quickly.

This lighting technology provides the homeowner with many cost effective options. Also, to order the best wax melts, just click the given link.

Best for Safety

At night, driveways, pathways, walkways and stairs can be unsafe places to travel. By lighting these areas, access to and from the house by family, friends and visitors becomes risk free; eliminating a misstep, falling over or running into something. Solar path lighting can deliver the cost effective choices of lighting necessary to make these environments safe.

Best Security solution

Security for the home is often one of the highest priorities for outdoor lighting solutions. By illuminating the home or access points to the home, burglars are less likely to attempt a break-in because they do not want to risk being identified. A solar powered security light with a motion sensor, spot light or flood light can be easily and cost effectively installed to solve this requirement.

Enhancing the whole Look

Homeowners spend many hours and a considerable amount of money in creating beautiful landscapes and gardens that are cloaked at night by darkness. Solar lights for garden areas can enhance the look of these areas allowing you and other people enjoy the beauty at night. Solar power garden lights can brighten an entire setting or simply focus on signature elements such as a shrub, flowers, fountain, rock area or pond.

Fast and easy to install

Installing traditional outdoor lighting can be a long and cumbersome task. Solar lights are fast and easy to install. There is no need to worry about getting and waiting for an electrician, connect wiring or burying wires. Install your solar lights right from the box.  On the other hand if you want more complex solar panels contact a solar panel company.

Increasing Enjoyment Time

Backyard entertainment with friends and family delivers many hours of fun and enjoyment. Sitting on the deck or lounging around the pool creates a relaxed and enjoyable experience. A solar deck light, a solar yard light and solar pool lights can deliver the illumination necessary to enjoy this area at night. The lighting on the deck or in the backyard can be installed easily and quickly allowing for extended usage of this area into the night.

Solar outside Lights can deliver an excellent alternative to traditional lighting; providing easy and quick installation, low maintenance costs and cost effective pricing while using a free and safe renewable power source – the sun.

How do outside solar lights work?

In simplistic terms, outside solar lights gather and store the energy of the sun and use this energy to power the solar lights at night.

To accomplish this process, the outside solar lights require the use of six components.

The Enclosure

The enclosure is typically constructed of metal or plastic and is used to enclose all the components in a sealed and weatherproof environment. These enclosures have clear glass or plastic sides or tops to allow for the penetration of the sun’s rays.

Solar Cells

A Solar cell is constructed of absorbent semiconductor material such as silicon that can absorb sunshine and convert the energy into electricity. Multiple solar cells are linked together to produce enough electrical energy to charge an attached battery. These solar cells reside just inside the clear portion of the enclosure so that they can receive maximum exposure of the sun. Some solar powered outdoor lights are sold with multiple units that are consecutively attached together. In this scenario, the solar cells do not reside within the light fixture but are housed in a separate weather resistant enclosure called a solar panel. This solar panel is attached to the string of light fixtures and is responsible for powering all of the fixtures. Solar panels are also used for single light fixtures that must be placed in areas that do not receive sunshine.

A Battery

A battery is used to store the converted electrical current during the day. The battery is directly connected to the group of solar cells. A standard rechargeable NiCad battery is used to store the charge. During the day, the battery will charge. At night, the battery will stop charging and use its energy to power the light fixture. The battery stores enough energy to power the light fixture all night.

The Photo resistor

The photo resistor determines the time of day. When it gets dark enough, it triggers the battery to stop charging and start supplying power to the light automatically. The reverse process is created when the light emerges. The battery will stop supplying energy to the light and begin to recharge itself. The photo resistor acts as an on/off switch for the light fixture.

The Light Source

Typically, outside solar lights use compact LED lighting. The number of and the size of these LEDs determines the brightness of the illumination it gives off. These LEDs are connected to the circuit that is controlled by the photo resistor through the controller board. LED lights have a long life span and tend to give off significantly less heat than a conventional bulb.

The Controller Board

The controller board acts as the brain for this unit allowing these components to interact on a common circuit. It processes the messages from the photo resistor and allows for battery recharge and supplying power to the light source.

Solar powered outdoor lights have been available for many years and the process that allows them to operate continues to be enhanced to increase its efficiencies.
